The data reveals that three quarters of respondents believe the president is failing to focus on the country’s top priorities, while two thirds argue that he prioritizes his own interests over those of the United States. This shift in public sentiment arrives at a critical juncture, coming less than 100 days before midterm elections where Republicans are projected to potentially lose control of Congress.

The president’s overall approval rating has plummeted to 34 percent, marking its lowest point since the aftermath of the January 6 insurrection. Much of this decline appears linked to dissatisfaction with foreign policy and domestic economic strain. Only 28 percent of those surveyed approve of current military actions in Iran, and an even smaller fraction believes the conflict has been worthwhile given the loss of life and financial cost. At home, inflation continues to weigh heavily on voters, with nearly three quarters stating that rising gas prices have created genuine hardship.

Public perception regarding Trump’s specific policy pillars is also shifting toward the negative. Even his once popular hardline stance on immigration is seeing a dip in support, as more than half of respondents now suggest that mass deportation efforts have gone too far. Furthermore, there is widespread frustration over what critics describe as vanity projects funded by taxpayers, including proposed renovations to the White House and other monuments in Washington D C, leaving very few people feeling positive about how he utilizes executive resources.

Beyond policy failures, many Americans are questioning whether the 80 year old president possesses the necessary capabilities for office. According to the survey, 57 percent of participants believe he lacks the mental sharpness and physical stamina required to lead effectively. With only 38 percent viewing him as an effective global leader and a vast majority claiming he is out of touch with daily struggles, these findings paint a picture of a presidency struggling to maintain legitimacy heading into a pivotal election cycle.
