A night of seasonal shopping turned into a scene of chaos and tragedy on Friday evening when a shooting broke out at a Spirit Halloween store in Fairfield. Local authorities reported that the gunfire occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the Solano Town Center, leaving one person dead and six others wounded. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, where they discovered several victims with severe injuries, at least three of whom remain in critical condition.

The details surrounding the attack are still emerging as investigators work to piece together the timeline of events. A witness spoke to reporters, recounting how his wife was inside the store when the violence began. He noted that she heard a flurry of gunshots, estimating between five and seven rounds were fired as panicked shoppers scrambled to escape the building. Despite the immediate response from law enforcement, police confirmed that no suspects have been detained yet, and they are still trying to determine if there was a single shooter or multiple individuals involved.

Given the scale of the incident, the FBI’s Sacramento office has deployed its Evidence Response Team to assist the Fairfield Police Department in processing the crime scene. Support also came from the California Highway Patrol and the Suisun City Police Department as they secured the area of the shopping center. Investigators are now urging anyone who may have seen something or has information regarding the shooting to contact local authorities via phone or email to help bring those responsible to justice.
